Build story

Bought property next door to a race track just so I could do this build (and hold my wedding on, or at least that is what my missus thought). I bought the car for $150 dollarydoos from the original owner whos son had burnt out the clutch doing roll backs in their driveway. Once I bought it, it sat for 2 years as I promised that I wouldn’t spend any money on it until after our wedding. We had the wedding on a Saturday and on Monday, 3 full delivery vans dropped off my entire eBay watch list. After having a blast bolting on all the plastic fantastic parts and playing silly buggers with it, I competed in the shortened 2020 Khanacross/Autocross season at Beverley Off Road Motorsports Association (BORMSA) and got faster with every race.
In the offseason I stripped it all back down built a 6 point cage and painted both inside and out. almost everything on this car was done by me in my little shed in the bush so I have no one to blame, I did get help from MERT Automotive with the roll cage as my welds are “Agricultural” and I am now banned from my mate John’s backyard spay booth as I got over exited and put the entire bag of glitter into one litre of paint.
I’ve recently been toying with wide body flares to make it look a little like a MG Metro 6R4 (see my Instagram @Festy_AF ) because I love that “Race Ugly” look. I also bought a boat trailer and converted it to tow the car to other tracks, that conversion included painting it Barbie Pink, naming it Trailer Swift and of course a full purple under-glow kit.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and checking out my maaad little rally nugget.

Cheers
Adam Meataxe Ward
