1972 Ford F600, joined with a 1951 Chrysler New Yorker cab, and a 1973 pickup bed camper. All of that body swapped onto an 1981 International S1954 chassis, with a DT466 diesel engine and a swapped in 13 speed roadranger transmission.

Build story

I#039;ve always been a huge fan of the Mad Max. I decided to build me a rig after hearing of an event called &Wasteland Weekend&. I started with a 1972 Ford F600 farm truck that sat in my Step Moms field for 20 years. I got it running, stripped off the bed, and built a new flatbed on the back for a new foundation for what was dubbed &Atomic Annie&
I cut a cab section out of a 1951 Chrysler New Yorker, and grafted it to the back of the truck cab. This made it a 6 door crew cab.
The back was topped of with a 1973 pickup camper, and the outline was complete. The centers were all opened up, to be able to go all the way to the back of the camper. The outside was sheet metaled in, while trying to keep with the &Mad Max/post apocalyptic& theme.
I swapped in a built 460 engine with a ZF5 speed transmission to power it. With the front and rear bumpers, she was road worthy in 2017 to drive 2500 miles to Wasteland Weekend.
In 2018, I started a chassis swap onto a 1981 International S1954 chassis, mostly for the DT466 diesel powerplant. I swapped in a RoadRanger 13 spd transmission, and then swapped the entire body onto the International chassis.
Since then, everything has slowly been getting put back together and working again. Trial runs have started, to work the kinks out of her.
