My dad was looking for vehicles for me and was shopping around when he found this truck for $700 and I fell in love with, although the engine was blown he said we could rebuild it and we could do whatever we wanted to the truck. He has left most of the decisions up to me although he gives me ideas and talks about things we could do to the truck being the truck was run in the ground by the previous owner so much was neglected or just poorly fixed. So far we have spent a total of about 8k or so on the truck, we are getting to the point of really personalizing the truck but we are using everything we can reuse that already came with the truck and are recycling and selling things we don’t want to help with expenses so as far as mods we are just now starting to do things like that because it was dead when we found it, the previous owner did just have the transmission done and we had the engine machined and I completely replaced the front end, so most of the major mechanical problems have been fixed , now we are working on the cosmetics and curb appeal. Luckily my dad kept sneaking videos and pics even tho I didn’t want him to at first, but then he explained that we are going to keep working on this truck and take pictures so I can go to cars and coffee and car shows here in Florida to show off my hard work. In the process of doing this with my dad I found inspiration and confidence that I could do things that I had no idea I could do and it has inspired me to search for jobs that I would never have thought about doing and learning all the tools and rigging has inspired me to want to be a Electrical Lineman like my dad. So enough about me we tried to post the videos when he first found the truck but they were too long and even tho we cut them down to 3 smaller videos they are at the bottom of the pictures.( we tried to move them to the top but it wouldn’t let us) Now on to mods we started with the engine it was worn out, it’s bored .20 over upgrade the timing components with Melling chains and cast ratcheting tensioners also a Melling oil pump, we did a complete fronted over haul, rotor and break job, new rims and tires and are currently working on the radio system after we pulled the dash to change the blend door and heater core being the heating and cooling system was butchered and are currently fixing issues that were Jerry rigged from the previous owner due to the truck getting older it will be my first vehicle it has almost 300k miles on it, and we are bring back to life, I started on this project with my dad 16.

Build story

We are going completely throughout the vehicle fixing all kinds of problems and are personalizing the vehicle to myself, I like green so that is what we are going with, it’s name is DEW!! (like Mountain Dew) we will be heading to paint soon after we change the front bumper to maybe a lightning or a Harley F150 and have plans to supercharge it and completely redo the interior, but it takes time and it is almost ready for the road, my friends ask me all the time when am I going to drive it to school, IM CLOSE!!! JUST A FEW MORE WEEKs!! Although me and dad have driven it around the neighborhood, the only real hold up right now is just tag and insurance, it’s ready, well we need an alignment done because I replaced the entire front end BUY MYSELF, my dad just set in a chair and watched me, although getting started he helped a lot because I had to learn the tools and everything but now he still helps but he challenges me to do things myself and encourages me to think threw them.
