Build story

Ive owned the car for 16 years, it started as my only transport when I was a student, I drove it until the rust took over, and it would no longer pass an MOT. I rebuilt it over a 5 year period, all the rust was cut out and replaced and a roll cage was added. I kept the original colour as everyone paints them red, the wheels are a nod to the Japanese tuning scene, Ive always thought of the car as a British 240z, people either love or hate the pink wheels...

Rather than replace worn out parts Ive tried to upgrade the car as I went along, the engine started burning oil so I rebuilt it with performance parts, it produces around 120bhp and lots of torque, a big improvement, I had planned to fit a supercharger but recently bought an accident damaged race car with a 2.0 twin cam Rover engine and 5 speed gearbox, this will be fitted with Jenvey heritage itbs and Omex management and should produce around 200bhp.

As the car is now solid, faster and handles much better I have started historic hillclimbing, I am booked in for several races this year, after the season ends I will be swapping the new engine over, It is still a road car and I use it during the summer months and had planned a trip round Europe in it last year however Covid stopped that.
