Build story

I got this truck from a long time friend as my first vehicle and still my only. Got it running and home then didnt touch it for years. It needed everything. Started with the tank. The driveshaft had fell off in its past life and took out the tank. The tank I replaced it with has an on tank gauge. I pointed a back up cam at it and add a double din. Problem solved. It went on hold for some years until I fell out of work and it was time to do something with it. Started rewiring it and then worked on the old 20r. Got it running and driving after doing the front brakes. I then added the Weber downdraft and started ripping through town. Until I released I was burning a ton of oil and developed a knock. So I looked for a spare motor to build. Randomly found the early 22r on Facebook and bought it. With an early 22r block I could easily do a hybrid. The 20r head flows much better then the 22r and from my understanding has a slightly smaller chamber. I ended up doing a bit of polishing. I started on my valve cover then noticed I used the wrong one that wouldn't alow me to use my old oil cap. So it never got finished. The bay got painted the original artic white. It all came out pretty good and is a pretty solid motor. Body parts have been the hardest to get. The fenders are from Greece. Had to spend a fortune to get them. Recently started talking to a dude in Thailand and have bought a new bumber, tailgate, and hood from him. All stuff I never thought I would find. Still waiting on those. It's a fun little project that I think people will enjoy.
