400 sbc swap. Vortec heads. Edelbrock intake. Performance cam. Rochester carb with govenor off of a flat head chrysler engine out of a massey super 92 combine. 11 7/8 inch gm pressure plate and disk modified by using the cockshutt pp fingers and cockshutt release bearing. I machined a gm input shaft down so that it could be pressed into a section of the cockshutt input shaft. An internal spline coupler was also inserted in the middle af the shaft and welded together so that a pto and hydraulic pump could be run. The original build never had a pto and used a belt driven hydraulic pump. Gm power steering box and pump. The cast iron frame had to be cut for the starter to fit. Also a short oil filter was used and the pan modified so that it can be serviced. Exhaust manifolds are from a massey combine.

Build story

This tractor was built in 1972 by my dad when he needed a more powerful tractor but couldnt afford one. From then till the mid 1980's he put about 3000 hours on it and two engines ( first a 327 then a 350) until it wasnt being used and parted out in the early 1990s. This past november of 2020 we resurected it with a 400 sbc that i had swapped in my s10 and wasnt using anymore. The tractor could use some paint but otherwise is ready to go back to work.
