9a 2L block, Lightly ported and polished 16v head w/TT euro intake cam, 4K close ratio trans w/Peloquin 80% shimed diff, catless 2 1/2inch exhaust with Vibrant ultra quiet resonator and Borla muffler, Koni adjustable coilovers, poly strut bushings, poly motor mounts, poly control arm bushings and rear beam bushings, poly front sway bar links, MK3 front brakes, 15x7 Rota Grids w/Dunlop dz102 rubber.

Build story

Bought the car almost a decade ago, originally for $400 plus $150 for a spare engine and trans. Was going to use it as a chump car (now ChampCar) endurance racer, but the team we signed up backed out and I was left with it. Eventually blew up the 1.8 PL 16v it had in it and swapped in the 9A 2.0 with a slightly worked head. Retained the CIS injection mostly for nostalgia. Works well, seems to make decent power although I’ve never had it on a dyno (Hard to pay $$$ for 3 back to back 150hp pulls LOL). It can take track abuse for hours at a time with no issues at all, that’s what I love most about it, it’s the only reliable VW I’ve ever owned, and I’ve have a lot... Too many..

I’ve finally decided to paint it. Currently being slightly body worked, hope to be finished and have the color on before the end of ICS2021 entry!
