Was spending too much money filling up the thirsty 360 on the weekends so convinced my wife a diesel would be more efficient! Engine came out of an unknown model/year Case tractor, it needed a complete overhaul. Upgraded the fuel pump after its first run away to a rebuilt VE, bigger injectors, hx30 turbs, intercooler from a 93 dodge. Trans was bought for $200 and rebuilt for another $500 with eBay parts which lasted about a year, got an actual trans shop rebuild after wrecking stuff that’s been solid. Trans was out of a 96 dodge. Rebuilt the tcase and installed twin stick shift kit, tcase is from 93 dodge. Rebuilt the front and replaced the rear axle after it grenaded with 3:73 gears, still stock Chrysler 9.25” on rear and Dana 44 on front. “Had to” swap the rusted 84 body off it for a semi clean 87 that I put a ton of work into so it would pass safety in my new home province, truck is maturing with me, only original pieces are the frame and front axle housing basically. Get close to 900kms on a tank compared to 350kms in the 360. Worth it! Lots of extra work done you’d have to see in person!
