Build story

My dad gave me the truck when he moved back to ontario cause it was to large to move. It’s originally a 3 ton grain truck, with a hoist and wood grain box on the back. So I planned on swapping an engine into it, cause the original engine was seized solid, but realized it would be easier to swap the body. I’m a diesel tech by trade and run my own small shop, so it only made sense to make it Diesel powered. I bought a 1995 F-250 regular cab long box, 2 wheel drive, 7.3 powerstroke with a 5-speed manual. I stripped the body off and only kept the necessary parts, pedals, steering column, brake master, clutch master and slave, gauges, and wiring. I had to place the engine 8 inches into the cab to make the 7.3 fit and still have room for the original ford rad and clutch fan. I built the doghouse over the engine from a 2000 GMC 1500 box, the rounded edges are the rear lower corners and the rest was the sides of the box. I reused the original International seat but got it recovered, I also reused the original International gauges, but used the ford stepper motors and put them in the fuel, volt, temp and oil pressure. Also used the original shifter welded to the factory shifter mount. I had the build front cab mounts, and transfer the original rear cab mount to the ford frame with some modifications. The windshield is new along with all weather stripping, but side and rear glass is original. The rear bed is from my sisters horse pen in Saskatchewan, which a friend built. The rims are from a 2007 dodge dually, front dually spacers are from a 2008 GMC dually. Rear bumper from a 1970’s Chevy C-10, narrowed 12 inches. All lights are LED and cab lights are original orange glass. Friend built the custom fuel tank out of aluminum and it holds 170 Litres of fuel. Took me 1 year solid of work, I have about 100 hours in fabrication, 1 month in wiring and plumbing alone. I had very little help to build this truck, and probably about $8000 max in total spending. Still more to come.
