I got this 1981 cj7 on trade for a 2011 Subaru that was an automatic and non turbo and I didn't want to be caught driving that car by any means so I got the jeep on trade and when I recieved the cj it had some ugly flames and was running on some worn out 36-12.5s. In April 2019 I figgured I was gonna replace some rusty floor pans but the more I got into it I realized everything was junk and bit the bullet and ordered a new steel tub, hood, tailgate, as well as tube fenders to set on top of the frame that was still good. The old lift it was running was wore out and the leaf springs were starting to go in the wrong direction so I order up a 6in lift with all new springs to put on top of the dana 60 rear and 44 front so with the axle under springs it a bit over 9in of lift allowing me to run 38-15.5 Mickey Thompsons on some 10 wide steel wagon wheels. Motor is still the amc straight 6 4.2L and will spin all 4 in mud with the posi rear and ox locker in the front!
