The old girl has a 4 inch rough country lift which is mostly to make rust holes more visible. She’s equipped with a garden variety small block 350 backed by a sm465 4 speed. She’s got a used edelbrock intake and carb from the 80’s and a heavily worn clutch so she really keeps a feller on his toes at stop signs and what not. For shoes she’s got some used 33x10.50’s because who buys new tires? There is a very custom bullet hole in the passenger fender which with the right cross wind equates to 5.2 more horsepower. It’s race car stuff. Heavily rusted Chrome exhaust tips off an old farm truck. A feller didn’t want it too blingy. The rockers are heavily weight reduced for off roaring and it gives a nice pocket to store some miscellaneous zip ties and such. She’s got her fair share of zipeties and bailing wire. She’s got a pretty sassy custom ignition modification which consists of starting her with an old flathead. Needless to say, you can never lose the key. She’s got a little poverty chrome here and there just to give ‘er a splash more of taste.

Well it started out just a project to get running. It had sat in a pasture for just about 20 years. The old girl has been set on her side just once and been rubbed by cows countless times. I’m a senior in high school and have always loved getting things running and figuring out what makes them tick. Since she’s an old Chevy, she didn’t take but a battery, carb and a tickle of the key and she came to life. After that it was something new done to it every week. Headers, a lift and just some over due maintenance. The old girl still sees her fair share of work during the summers pulling hay out of pastures and taking cows to sale lots. This truck has always been a type of get away for me. My mom just got over breast cancer and has recently been diagnosed with leukemia so this truck has always been something that I can work on and clear my head.
