Build story
I bought the truck running and driving for $500 usd with a massive hole in the gas tank. I never wanted a 2wd but for the price I couldn’t pass it up especially since it had only 46k original miles. I live in the rust belt and it still even had the factory frame coating on it. Anyway before I got it the i6 that was in it blew up so it got a 302 with factory efi swapped into it. I got most of the problems worked out of the wiring and then started driving. About 2 months in the brakes went to the floor and I hit a tree head on at 35mph. Backed up and drove it the 3 miles home. Over the next few months I pieced it back together a little lower and better. I put a zf5 5 speed trans in it since it had a 4 speed and I wanted overdrive. Then came the full floating rear axle that had a Detroit locker in it and 3.73 gears. I also added lowering shackles to sort of level it out without getting rid of the functionality of being a truck. I am also in the process of building a custom gauge cluster for it and completely redoing the interior. Hopefully in the future it’ll get a turbo or blower.
