2004 Chevy Avalanche 1500 sitting on a modified 1993 Chevy 3500 DRW chassis. 6.5 mechanical injection turbo diesel, with a NV4500 5 speed. I took pride in building it as close to factory as possible, so anyone could get in and drive it as if it was factory built.
Build story
This build helped get me through my divorce. I have a 2004 Chevy Avalanche 1500 4wd with 200,000 hard miles in Michigan. It needed some love. At the time I owned a towing business and I picked up a 1993 Chevy 3500 CCLB dually with the 6.5 mechanical injection turbo diesel, but junk body. I thought it would be awesome to put that diesel in my avalanche. I started looking at the suspension and brake lines on my Avalanche, and thought it would be awesome to make a dually avalanche. so I reworked the factory 3500 chassis to match the avalanche body. Between limited time and funds, it took about 2 years to build, but it was worth it.\r

I have since remarried, and decided to take my build to the next level. I picked up an international DTA 360 and Spicer 7-speed transmission. I fully rebuilt the engine, resealed the transmission, and modified the firewall to accept the engine/transmission combination. I custom built motor mounts for the engine. I also removed the independent front suspension and installed a 2008 F-250 radius arm Dana 60, full air ride. I have also upgraded to 19.5 Alcoa 10 bolt rims, and 245/70r19.5 tires. This part of the build is still in progress, same story, time and money. working very hard to have it done for this summer.\r
