2020 Valuation Report\r

In the years 1982-1991, the Porsche company, initially in collaboration with VW and later with Audi, introduced the 924/944 models which were a radical departure of all that had gone before in that they were front-engined vehicles. In 1986, some 11,000 944 Turbo models were introduced of which some 70% were destined for the US market. \r
The photographs confirm that this particular vehicle would likely rank among the best preserved of these cars and it is in concours condition. The 2 + 2 body is finished in an attractive metallic silver/grey and the paint looks to be in good condition with no damage being apparent. The body gaps and shut lines visible all appear to be perfectly acceptable and the minimal badging and styling touches that denote this particular model also look to be complete and free of damage. The car sports a set of OE cast aluminium “Phone Dial” wheels, finished in body colour, that suit the car perfectly.\r
\r
The interior is finished in a greatly contrasting dark red leather trim which produces a most attractive look. This colour is carried through into the entirety of the car and repeats in the rear + 2 seats and the rear load space along with the carpet, door cards, headlining, dashboard and steering wheel. Rather than being an overkill, in my opinion the total use of the dark red interior trim works perfectly with the car.\r
Mechanically, the engine bay is in pristine condition and displays the 2.5 litre Porsche Turbo engine at its best. Although the engine bay appears crowded and complex – as is the case with this model – all is correct and in extra tidy condition.\r
\r
There are occasionally similar cars for sale on local and overseas markets however, rarely one as delightful as this car and their increasing desirability to Porsche collectors and investors has seen prices shift dramatically over recent times.
