Build story

I was looking for an Alfa Romeo project car and realised that practically everything available was overpriced and in need of a southern donor car for rear quarters. I found that I could buy three Sprites/Midgets for the price of one Alfa project car and in better shape...so that’s what I did.\r
\r
This car is a true Spridget, with a 1965 Sprite chassis using 1973 Midget suspension and drivetrain. I was inspired by Rod Emory’s Outlaw style Porsche’s and decided to build a vintage racecar for the street.\r
\r
The whole project has nearly funded itself by stripping the various parts cars and selling the parts in order to make upgrades. In fact, Stefan from Deboss Garage bought the chassis for his Midget project from my original car!\r
\r
And brackets. Did I mention brackets? There hasn’t been one modification on this project that hasn’t required a custom bracket of some kind:\r
\r
- battery hold down\r
- fuel cell straps\r
- fuel pump mount\r
- steering column hein joint mount under dash and firewall bearing support\r
- later pedal box supports\r
- remote oil filter mount\r
- oil cooler mount\r
- seat bracing mounts\r
\r
The big question: does it run? And the answer is: no. But neither do your project cars. :)
