Build story
This is my 1987 dodge ram w150 with a LA 318 and a a727 tanny, i been working on this truck for a few years no, the body was in really rough shape, so the first thing i did was remove the cab and box, after that i gave the frame a quick paint job and replaced all the seals and bearings for the axles, put new brakes and brake lines, replaced the fuel with new lines and filters, while i was doing that i was looking for a donner truck,i ended up finding a 1989 d100 in town from a little old man and he kept it in good shape was undercoated and had lots of grease under it, so after i was done with getting the frame and what not done it was time to remove the body off the 89 ohh did i mention i did it all in my shop with no lift just man power, saw horses and some wood, the 89 had some rust on the driver side floor fixed that up so i could drive it, so finished doing the body swap in 2014 drive it with the original engine that came with the 87 for a few years and while i was driving it that way i started rebuilding the engine that came out of the 89. put all new seals, bearings, mild cam(rv cam), hydraulic flat tappet lifters, ARP head bolts, crank cap bolts, and piston cap bolts, new piston and all the hardware, edelbrock performance intake and four barrel carb, and Mopar performance valve covers and air cleaner, and summit racing headers. In may of 2017 i took the old tired 318 and out in the freshly rebuilt on. Drove it around for that year and 2018, Then last year it was time to address the body so i started with removing the box and that made it easier to out in the 4inch Skyjacker lift in, put new rear leaf springs in and sealed up the frame with a fresh coat of paint, then this fall i started taking the body apart, put new fenders and doors on, fixed up the patch i previously fixed the right way, replaced the driver side cab mount and bedlined the floor. Cabs all ready for primer and paint now just have to wait for this virus to go away so i can get a box for it the color i picked is hydro blue from the new ram trucks. once i get a box then it will be ready for the summer, cant wait to drive it again and bring back memories of being in my dads 86 dodge ram w250
