Build story

First off this isn't really a 'build' it's just my car that I've done stuff to. I haven't got the skills or the money to do anything very impressive I'm afraid. What I do think it has is performance, practicality and an unusualness that makes it an interesting ride. It certainly stands out at the Subaru meets amidst the hoards of WRX/BRZs\r

The Forester STI IMHO is one of the coolest odd cars out there and a great sleeper. Essentially a Bugeye STI with the Forester body. It was my realistic dream car for a couple of years before I saved enough to get one. It's a rare car and most people don't even know was it is. It is also amazing seeing the faces of people when a 15 year old wagon smashes there shiney new German performance sedan in a traffic light drag. It has all the usual STI refinements and performance. New Subaru claimed 265bhp. I have a dyno print out of 328.6 at the wheels on mine. It was QuaranTUNED today by the same mapper on the road to take account for a few new mods no print out but I reckon 340-350 now at 18psi.\r

I bought the car almost 2 years ago and in that time I feel I have improved it greatly. It was a bit of a state when I got it and needed alot of work. Lots of little things were broken which I have gradually gone through and fixed (broken interior parts, bumper hanging off, shifter linkage bushings shot speakers blown out etc. Etc.)\r
The car has had an interesting history I think. It's very clear someone loved the car at some point the wheels at £2k new and gauges about £1k came with the car. But it was also very clear it hadn't had much love recently, cambelt was nearly done the oil sludgey and the power steering pump only lasted a couple of hundred miles before blowing up. It also came on Chinese ditch finder tires.\r

I've gotten to the stage were I am happy with it and there is nothing left to fix it's all about future plans. Bigger turbo and aiming for 400bhp but that will have to wait for the money. (Summit sell turbos rights??). There's nothing I would rather have without spending a hell of a lot more.
