Build story

it’s a 2002 ford ranger fx4, manual with manual transfer case, stock 4.0 v6.\r
Bought it completely stock 6 years ago as a first vehicle, got into some small mods,\r
Lift and tires, started doing some offroading and rock climbing and got hooked and decided I wanted to solid axle swap the truck.\r
So I cut off all the independent front suspension and Bought a set of axles out of a 78 bronco, \r
high pinion Dana 44 rebuilt it with 5:13 gears and Detroit true trac.\r
31 spline ford 9” rear, rebuilt it with 5:13 gears and Detroit locker.\r
used Chevy one ton tie rods ends with 1.5” 025 wall dom tube as tie rods, Reamed out the steering knuckles to accept the one ton tie rod ends.\r
Rebuilt the steering box out of that same bronco and used that with a E250 steering shaft shortened, and added a power steering cooler out of a explorer.\r
Used Chevy 64” leafs with some ranger leafs added and cut down overload. \r
Built the bumpers and put a winch behind the front. \r
Built all the suspension bracketry and arms myself. \r
Used 6” lift coils for an early bronco and measured for some fox shocks\r
And it’s rolling on some 37x14.5r15 toyo open country m/t tires \r
Truck has held up quite well woth multiple offroad trips and cruises on the hwy at 120kph with ease, cruise control and a/c, it’s even a comfy daily driver! Lol
