Build story
It’s a 1966 f100 from California. The story goes back to the 70’s 80’s I believe when a marine was driving it back to his home in Michigan when the rear end broke down in Iowa (it’s a rare Dana 60.2 which is just a regular one with limited slip). He didn’t have enough money to fix it so he handed the title to the shop. A farmer then bought it and used it to haul around wood for several years and another marine from Illinois bought it and he was the towns drunk driver and put a dent in the front fender which is still on the truck. It was then sold to the guy who I bought it from and was driven on road trips all over the place. I’m only 16 and i bought it as my first truck. After a little bit of driving it i forgot to check the oil and it burned through a whole gallon in 2 weeks and had a bad knock but it would still drive. I did a compression test on it and it had half the compression it should have had and when I pulled it apart the top of the cylinders were at 30 over and the bottoms were 10 over with the stock pistons. I rebuilt the motor all by myself with a bit of help here and there in my small townhouse garage. I then got the np435 tranny rebuilt and got a new clutch in it and I’ve been daily driving it ever since then.
