225cc top end (190cc originally)

Build story

Here in Italy these things are quite common. I got this back in 2016 from my grandad and it had been sittig for a couple of years already, i then proceeded to restore it during that summer. I had to replace the floorboard since ist was rusted away pretty badly, fix some dents on the cab and then with the help of my dad i resprayed it. I've been using it since then every once in a while especially until i got my car drivng licence in 2018 (it only requires a motorcycle license which can be obtained at age 16, car licence only at age 18). The engine is a 225cc single cylinder air cooled two stroke which puts out about 10 Hp (i think). It has 4 speeds forward an 4 in reverse (it just reverses the final drive in the transmission), top speed is about 65 Kmh or 40 mph, it currently has 97'700 km (60700 miles) on it, but the top end only has about 2000 km (1200 miles). The 500 in the model name indicates the payload of 500 kg (1100 lb), fully loaded it weight about 1100 kg (2400 lb). Also talking about the model name, Ape actually means Bee in italian and MP stands for "Motore Posteriore" or Rear Engine, since this was the firs model where they moved the engine from underneath the driver seat to under the bet in the rear. The cab seats 2, i am about 195cm (6'5") tall and i fit in quite easily. To put everythng into perspective the bed is only 150x150 cm (59"x59").
