2003 F-250 Crew Cab w/ OEM frame and interior, Caterpillar 3116, Allison trans w/ PTO for hydraulics, divorced transfer case, heavy duty hydraulically steered forklift axles, Corbeau seats from an MRAP, Ford Excursion Roll Cage, 4 Optima Batteries Wired to 24V, Slave cable receptacle , regulated air system with bleed valve, air over hydraulic brakes, air actuated transfer case. Build story
First off, The thing worked like a charm and I drove it around Balad for about a month before I went home. In September 2010 the war "ended" and we went from full throttle to almost nothing, being reserve troops most of us were mechanics back home and missed our projects. In order to keep our skills up, we decided to build with what we could get our hands on. I was unceremoniously designated lead on the project and it remains my baby to this day. Craig Morgan the singer of "Redneck Yacht Club" and other Country hits actually drove the thing with me as a passenger after a USO concert (HOW COOL!). After we redeployed back to the states, another Company took over but for liability reasons I did a thing or two to make sure it would just be a roadside attraction. I could be wrong but I'm fairly sure the base exchanged hands with Isis in 2014 or so so god knows what happened to it. All I know is that I am am very proud of it and the dozen or so Soldiers that helped along side me. I'm sure they are too.
