Custom Flatbed dually, Pacific Dualies, and a 4 speed standard with a 2 speed rear end.
Build story
The whole story starts in 1986 when my late grandfather bought this Ford F350 2wd new for his family’s blueberry business. His brother made a custom flatbed on it. Just after some time they figured out that it was too high geared in the blueberry fields. So they put a 2 speed rear end in it so it is high geared and low geared. It was very expensive at the time when they bought it. Some time passed and when they closed down in 1992, he still kept the truck until his death in 1996. After he passed, it got sold out of the family. My dad wanted to buy it back because my dad and my late grandfather were very close, but before he could get to it, it got sold to someone else. Some years later, one of his friends called him and said it was for sale and he didn’t think the guy wanted a lot of money for it. So my dad called the guy and the guy said there was a problem with the truck and he parked it for a while. So dad went over to get it and he drove it home and he knew what was wrong with it, the power steering belt came off. So fast forward about 15 years. It is still used by my brother and I who use it to haul our lobster traps to the shore and back. We can put 36 traps on the truck and she takes it well. It is good to keep our grandfather’s memory alive. Also, the truck is still in very good shape.
