Build story

1998 Dodge Ram 2500, It is my first truck I bought when I was 15 getting ready to get my license at 16, bought it knowing it needed a lot of work to be done the way I wanted it to be so it kinda turned into a project with my mom, dad and girlfriend at the time whose now my fiancé. I had always wanted to build and restore a truck just like it was from the factory same paint codes and all, with just a few small add on’s. Like the wheels I mean I couldn’t have the ugly second gen wheels on a freshly restored truck. After it was restored I started getting the horsepower bug and decided to beef up the 12 valve cummins engine, it started out with an 4 inch exhaust, then an AFE intake, governor springs and grinding a custom fuel place, modifying the afc housing on the injection pump, then adding injectors, delivery valves and then a turbo. Then I had to build my 47re transmission to handle the Extra power I was then making. Then after a while I wanted more so I knew I needed a ported and polished, o ringed head and head studs to flow all the air I’d need to handle my future upgrades. Overall it was a great fun project to do with my family and friends and make many more friends. It’s never about the money spent, it’s about the hours spent with ones you love and care about while building something you will enjoy. After all that’s what really counts is the memory’s and the things you learn weather it be new ways to do things, old school tricks from those wiser than me, or even the new curse words I learned when things would fight me. Just an old truck that’s been restored slowly over time with a little more confidence under the hood that I can get in and drive anywhere I need to go at any time. Thanks for putting on a show for us Deboss nation fans.
