Build story

This truck started as a daily driver bought in Oregon and driven to Minnesota in 1976. It had been DNR originally, then a rental agency owned it. In 1979 after 2 Minnesota winters restoration was needed, the rust was taking hold. It got fenders, doors, cab corners, rockers, paint. No more winter driving. In 1984 Performance Rally was discovered where it carried a crew of two to perform vehicle and personal rescue services on logging roads day and night. After the first year it was obvious the Dog needed some upgrades to improve range, comfort, speed on forest roads, utility, visibility and, safety. It took several years to accomplish, but it worked rallies and races all the while. The truck has worked ProRallies, Road, Oval, and go kart races all over Minnesota and the UP of Michigan. Always getting there and back under its own power. It has been a work truck all its life. The Dog ran many rally crosses (timed laps in the dirt for prizes) and took First Place in its class in the 1995 Headwaters Club Rally. That was 65 miles of logging roads at night in the rain. It still gets out now and then to show the kids what a purpose built ProRally Sweep truck is supposed to be.
