Build story

Had got the thought of wanting and old truck with a diesel and specifically a 6BT. Told a friend of mine of the idea and he said " Tell you what, if you get an engine, I'll give you a truck to do it in since I'd like to see that happen" So it all came together with truck that sat in the field for 30 years. Originally I put the truck together on the original frame but after 4-5 years of having steering that always pulled to the right, worn out rear suspension, a drive-line angle that was extremely crooked to clear the steering gear box and fighting manual steering and a welded Dana 60. I decided it was easier to swap it all onto a 03 Chev 2500 frame. I acquired the frame, Converted it to 2wd by lathing down some broken CV axles to keep the front bearings together, moved the rear axle forward 10.5 inches and cut off 6-8 inches of frame off the back and literally dropped everything in. I also installed the HE351VGT from a 2011 Dodge 3500 and converted it to manual control with a spring from a Honda quad clutch basket. Daily drive it during the summer, no heater installed for Canadian winters.
