Build story
This is my 1965 dodge D100. My grandfather bought it new in 65 and about 2 years ago, gave it to me. I’ve been around the truck my entire life but hadn’t done much to it until it became mine. It’s a pretty original truck it still has its original engine and transmission a 225 slant 6 and a 3 speed column shift neither has been rebuilt and are still going strong. The body paint is original but I did repaint the white parts. The heater and radio are not original from the factory my grandfather had the dealer add them when he bought the truck. Most of what I’ve done has just been replacing and repairing broken or missing things. Stuff like a missing door handle, replacing the front turn signals, fixing the radio, the shift linkage and a bunch of other random stuff. I’m in the process of repairing the front passenger fender from when someone ran a stop sign about 30 years ago. The truck has been a driver it’s entire life the longest it’s been down for was probably about a week. I have other neat things that go with the truck like the original operators manual still in the plastic sleeve, the original jack and spare tire, the invoice from when my grandfather bought the truck and a lot of the old registration cards from the 60s and 70s. The truck still needs a lot of work but it’s getting there little by little. I always enjoy spending time working on it and I really enjoy seeing the smile on my grandfather’s face when I show him something I’ve fixed on the truck.
