Build story

My dad bought this truck when I was about a year-old in 1978 or 1979. It carried countless cords of firewood to heat our home, made 100's of trips to the hardware and lumber store for home remodeling projects, carried debris and garbage to the dump, and towed the boat for years with my brother and I sharing the middle seat belt on the bench seat. It was my "First Car" at age 16, and was occasionally pressed into service to haul marching band equipment when I was in High School. Eventually, the use of the truck waned as she was superseded by newer trucks, and she was kind of left to "Rot." I always had a soft spot for the truck, and I hatched a plan to get her road worthy again. I brought her to my shop, and started digging-in. I found more disrepair than expected, and the project turned into a full-blown body-off restoration. I started in 2011, and I'm still not quite on the road. (Kids and family have sidelined the project for the past 5 years.) She's not perfect, but she's pretty nice. Actually pretty close to being back on the road. All of these pics are the same truck.
