Build story

1968 Land Rover Series 2a SWB, 2.25L 4 cylinder engine. Underwent a complete ground up nut and bolt rebuild from 2010 to 2016, including gearbox and engine. \r
\r
Engine was restored to factory specifications and shown a bit of "love & respect", transforming it from a sluggish 50 yr old 4wd to a vehicle that can comfortably keep up with modern traffic. \r
\r
The old Lucas starter motor was replaced with a new gear reduction starter motor. The old distributor has been binned and upgraded to a 123 Ignition Bluetooth programable distributor. This allows all normal distributor functions to be tuned in real time plus engine RPM, block temperature and road speed, all on your phone or device.\r
\r
In addition to the hundreds of factory brackets we also added a few of our own including an alternator bracket, a custom 2nd battery mount and brackets to mount the brake and clutch reservoirs.\r
\r
It has been painted in Jaguar British Racing Green to match a vintage Lotus Go-Kart. Wheel colour and roof colour is standard.\r
\r
The rebuild with the attention to detail and technology upgrades results in a vehicle that goes well, is more fuel efficient and draws admiring looks and comments everywhere it goes.
