Build story

My project is a 1984 Chevrolet crew cab. I purchased the truck a little over a year ago from a farmer down here in Alabama. I was absolutely floored to find it. I had been dreaming about owning a square body crew cab ever since I was a kid when I passed one on the road and absolutely fell in love with them. The truck I bought was in damn good shape even though the truck started out its life as a light duty dump truck for the city of Opelika. It then spent several years as a farm truck hauling hay and serving as a part-time chicken coup. Even though it was my dream truck, I still had a couple issues with it. First and most importantly, it was not four wheel drive. Secondly, it was a 4 speed non overdrive trans and I couldn’t keep up with all the other high-priced high-class so called trucks on the interstate. Lastly, the old 6.2 diesel was wore out and had more oil on it than in it. So about a month ago, I got tired of talking about fixing it. I went outside and parked the truck slap dab in the middle of my drive way and tore it apart. That way if I wanted to use my driveway again, I would have to fix the truck so I could move it outta my way. So the past couple weeks during this uneasy time, I have been spending all of my free time cutting the 2wd drive stuff out and installing the 4wd axles, brackets, and transfer case. Next up, I pulled the old 6.2 out and found me another 6.2 with 30k on it for $350 just down the road from me. I installed a turbo assembly and a serpentine belt system on it from a 6.5 diesel I pulled from another truck I had purchased a few months ago. I also went ahead and ditched the old 4speed for a NV4500 with a NP205 trans case.
