Build story
I always wanted to put a diesel in a light weight chassis and wanted to do it as cheap as possible. The car currently weighs 3064lbs without driver. The entire build was done for 3500$ canadian. The car gets over 40mpg on the highway and has run 12.0@121mph so far with lots left to go. I purchased the mustang for 1000$ and then pulled out the V8 and the trans and sold engine/trans for 850$. Then i bought a 1994 dodge for 1500$ and pulled the engine and transmission and sold the rolling shell for 950$ and sold the stereo for 300$. I built my own motor mounts and modified the ford trans cross member and cut down an old driveshaft and had the proper yoke welded on. Deleted everything off the engine possible and got the engine weight down to around 870lbs. I bought a used polaris rzr radiator and it works great. The factory ford throttle cable hooked up the the p pump linkage. I call the car “Coalstang” you can see videos and pictures of the build on facebook and instagram and youtube under “coalstang”
