Build story
As much as I’d love for this build to be street legal, she’s not. Dirt track ovals are her expertise. Starting my racing career a few years ago behind the wheel of a couple outright minty 4 banging rice makers, I found myself sucked into this money pit of a sport. After a couple years of jammin Japanese cars into walls, I wanted a big boy toy. Got myself a Sport Modified Chassis. The car starts as a Monte Carlo sub frame, and is tube chassis the rest of the way back. Started as a pretty bare chassis car, blew the first v8 I had in her the first night. Put a shitty v8 in for a while to get the hang of the car, then found myself antsy for some more juice so I bought a much faster, slightly illegal v8. (Rules say I can run maximum 360, put a 383 in her) Ran the 383 for a while, found myself wanting even more power so I pulled some strings and got a hold of a GM 602 crate. Currently sitting in the car with approx. 350-400hp. Throughout my motor journey I blew a 2 speed power glide in half and switched to a 3 speed Saginaw with a clutch as tight as your mother’s ass. The car sits right now with the crate engine and the Saginaw waiting for oh so lovely Newsom to tell me I can go sling mud again. This build took a lot of time and effort as I was building it while in high school. Lots of weekends and summers have gone into this car. She might be a little too prissy for the minty category but good ol’ zip ties and bias plies has been my favorite YouTuber for years. Hope he has the chance to take a peek at this minty project. Thank you guys for putting this on!
