2003 4.8 truck motor with a nv3500 5 speed other then that it’s completely stock because it just works!!
Build story
As a kid I always loved the body style of these trucks so at 14 I acquired it for a whopping 200$ and saved it from a crusher. It started out with a v6 with an automatic transmission and one to many burnouts latter the v6 was done so I took a junkyard 4.8 and dropped it in and left the factory transmission 3 hours into it being driving the 700r4 had 2 extra neutrals. Within 6 months it killed 3 transmission. So after 3 years I decided to take on the project and redo the body with my father. So we completely stripped the truck down and began doing sheet metal work. We painted the frame all new brakes the whole 9 yards but for simplicity we left it factory. It was roughly a 6 month process from start to finish. We left the truck itself together for as long as possible until we were ready. The truck wasn’t drivable for only a month and a half. We got it back together and soon after another transmission was toast so I decided to 5 speed swap it and I absolutely love it. I daily drive it everywhere and have no hesitation to jump in it and road trip it. Best part about it is it will burn tire forever!!!
