Build story

5 years ago I got the truck. It was parked in a field because the fuel tank rotted off. It sat in the field for 7 at the time I got it, so in 2008ish you couldn’t buy parts for these as they only made it for 2 years; 83 & 84. It is mechanically identical to the ranger you had featured on the channel many moons ago with the exception that the Mazda came with an rx7 5 speed transmission instead of the ranger 4 speed. The roll bar in the back was made from left over roll cage tubing from my race car build. The bush guard was $30 on Kijiji. The fuel cell came from another race car build etc. If roll cage tubing hadn’t sky rocketed in price in the last couple years because of tariffs (more than a $1 an inch to buy!) I would have built a complete exoskeleton for it by now. \r

The most expensive part of the entire build was the booze consumed during the build and yes it does get driven on the street!\r

Disclaimer: the only thing worse than my camera skills are my video editing skills so it all had to be done in one take.
