She’s indeed pretty “factree.” Do Ford floor mats and a go-kart steering wheel from AutoZone count?
Build story
This is my 1985 Ford Ranger 4x4. I’ve had the thing for about a year and a half now, and it has come quite a long ways since then. I actually bought it from the brother of a girl who rides my bus. \r
Some history on this truck: it was manufactured at the Kentucky manufacturing plant in June of 1985, And was driven down in Kentucky for about 14 years. The guy who I bought the truck from had a grandpa that was down there for work, and he saw this truck for sale. Well he bought it, and drove it up to Crown Point Indiana where I live. He drove it for another 15 years, and then gave it to his grandson. Now his grandson didn’t just drive the truck, he beat the crap out of it for five years. He jumped it, ran it through bushes, and drove it like he was driving a race car.\r
One day, I saw this truck sitting in his front yard, and asked his sister about it. She said it was for sale, so I jumped on that real quick. I went over one day and test drove the thing, and it was nothing but a loud, doggy turd that pulled to the right harder than Rosie O’Donnell if she saw a 2 pound Reese’s Cup sitting on the counter.\r
I started working on it, and I will tell you what I have replaced so far. First thing to go in was a carburetor rebuild kit, then a radiator, front axle shafts, wheel bearings, hub assemblies, front brakes and brake hoses, all brake lines, front springs, rear springs, rear brakes, and some wiring here and there. I’ve done everything myself aside from finding an alignment shop that would do Twin Traction Beam front ends.\r
This is my minty ‘ol Ranger so far, hope you like it!
