Wood bed

Build story

I was looking for a first vehicle so I could could have something to call my own when I got my license and for it to be a bit of a project to turn wrenches on it when I have some down time. I had known about this truck for a while as it was owned by one of my clients and was his first truck, so after building up the funds we settled on a price and I bought it a few months before I got my license so I had time to get a few things fixed and learn driving a standard trans vehicle. It's 2wd with a 4.9L/300ci inline 6 and a 5speed along with the 8.8 rear end with 3.08 gears. I later found out that a friend of a friend knew the guy I bought the truck from and showed me a picture where he had taken it through some trails and beat on it a decent bit and just fixed what he needed to to be able to drive it again. I knew before finding that out that the doors fenders and hood needed to be replaced because of previous damage so myself and my dad went a local junkyard and found the bumper with brush guard, fenders, and hood for less than 400 bucks and carried out the doors at an all you carry for 75 bucks at another junkyard. While replacing these parts I found that the care support was not only rusted out but also crinkled in places from the owner before me jumping it.I am getting the original bed from the owner but have the wood bed that turns heads along with the multiple colors of the truck until then and might keep the wood. This has been a good truck and has never let me down yet. It gets down the road with minor troubles and will cruise at 90 on the highway just fine. This truck is a workhorse and does everything I need it to do and then some. I especially love the looks I get from the rich pricks and their parents at my school when they see the redneck with the multicolored Ford and a wood bed while I keep my head up high without a care. I have more do and accomplish but this is where I'm at currently. For anyone reading, thank you and God bless.
