Project Cheap Jeep started when a friend found a Jeep Liberty for sale with a blown engine for 600. He offered 300 and it was sold. But he didn’t know what to do with it so it ended up in my driveway. I tore down the engine to find a valve seat fell out. I found a Liberty getting parted out online with a questionable engine. I knew the parts were the ones I needed because they were way cheap. Turns out the used heads off the used engine had broken valve springs. Easy fix. The newer heads were not a direct bolt on, I had to cut out an EGR valve block off plate. Amazingly it has been running for several months now! I was told it was too nice for me, which is true, so the Liberty was confiscated by my wife and given to my daughter. We have taken several off road trips and even added a few new dents.
