Build story

Really wanted a daily driver, so reasonable fuel economy and comfort were a consideration. Also needed an economic parts hauler. And it *had* to have style. The mullet car was the perfect answer with a bit of work. I literally dragged this thing out of a field, and decided early on to keep it V6 but use a supercharged 3800 Series II, and had to keep the low-option vibe with no flashy interior, manual steering and manual transmission. I wanted the operation to be as seamless as a modern car, which included running the OBD II port into the car and having everything run off the key and as tidy of an installation as possible. First iteration was basically shoving a V6/5spd 4th generation Camaro into it, using everything I could from it. Then found a complete running Buick Park Avenue Ultra for $200 (even drove it into the shop), beefed up the engine a bit with ARP fasteners and dropped an S1X Cam into it and installed a 3.3" pulley to replace the 3.8" factory one. Recovered the original bench and made the interior as comfortable as I could with fresh carpet and sound deadening. The next step? AWD. Currently gathering front end components and an appropriate center diff, hopefully making it the ultimate all-weather all-condition daily parts hauler. The main goal when complete was to have as many OEM wear items as possible for ease of maintenance, and the engine side of things is pretty close to how I want it. Is it perfect yet? Not at all, but I've learned and practiced lots of different skills in the process of doing nearly everything myself and am very proud of how far my own skills and the car have come in the past few years!
