Build story

Meet Ol' Jimmy. He is a 1966 GMC 1000 Custom with a soul of gold and a heart of muscle! \r
I have owned this truck for 10 years. If I may begin at the beginning, I acquired the truck from a dear friend of mine named Dale. Dale owned the truck from 1970-2010, using it as his daily driver for most of that time. When he decided to sell it He first offered it to his Grandson, but he turned it down in favor of a 97 Lumina... Just why... Anyway, I got the call from Dale when I was out of town to ask me if I knew anyone who wanted "this old thing" for $500. I said SOLD, and the rest is history! \r
I have kept many of Dale's personal touches that he put on the truck with it in his memory. \r
I began really working on the truck in 2012. In the 8 years I have been building this thing, it has had 2 different engines and 4 different transmissions. I did not break them all I promise LOL. But there were some adventures with the old parts let me tell you, ah stories for another day. The truck is a blast. Its pretty darn fast, does burnouts like a madman, didn't cost $3 million to build, and makes a noise that can melt a car guys, or gals, heart! This has taken many years to get to this point as I am stuck on a pretty strict budget like many in the car world. Its a been and continues to be a very fun project!\r
Anyway, Thanks very much for checking out my truck! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!
