Build story

All was done in the driveway of my parents house mostly with a 200pc craftsman set, hf floor jack and stands, and a stick welder. I have done everything myself. The car was my parents brand new, and was given to me at 16. I discovered my mechanical side working on it and as I have done more, my skills have grown. I did not have mechanical parents AT ALL, so I basically did everything on my own. Two years ago, the stock 300k engine and trans were on the way out, so I had a decision to rebuild or swap. I thought i could get double the power for roughly the same cost as rebuilding, so that is what I set out to do. If I hadn't broke the pump on the trans by unknowingly not engaging the torque converter all the way, I would have succeeded. All said and done, including selling the old powertrain, I did it all for close to 2000 bucks. This is not a street queen as I have already blown up the trans once, front diff twice, two rear lockers, and 3 rear axles.
