Mostly original 1959 Studebaker Lark. Picked up with 38K original miles. 170 flat 6 with std 3 speed.\r

Needing a vehicle for the summer, I came across this car sitting in a compound for sale. Knowing Studebakers growing up, with limited funds, unknowing if it runs, the shape it's in or what it all needs, I took a chance and brought it home. The kids were anxious to clean it out, I put some points and condenser in, put a battery in and got it going. Rebuilt the brakes, fixed the rad, typical lights and even found the original furry seat covers in the back and put them on. It had been repainted at one time, some bondo falling off, and has some rust but still a solid car. \r

It has been a great summer beater and the kids love taking it to Car Shows. Studebaker was known for reasonable fuel mileage, but even this impresses me. Some people don't believe the mileage but when your limited, have a good tune, and don't have a lead foot, you can go a while off of 10L of fuel. Besides, as Uncle Tony says.... It's not how fast you go, it's how you go fast.
