Mods
Mostly stock. Mods were made for safety and drivability (okay... yes, performance too). Wanted it to look factory with attitude.
Roller cam 5 liter efi motor
3-1/2” lift
Line-X tub
disk brake conversion
stealth hi-lift jack mount
33x9.50 BFGs on stock Ford steel wheels, and about a million other little things I’ve done over the past 20 years of ownership. The police markings were from the time my Bronco was used in a tv show.

Build story
Bought it in 1998 with funds I scraped together because I promised my wife that this Bronco would not cost actual money. I’m lucky that I am an artist. I sold t-shirts with Broncos on them and other things to raise money to pay for the Bronco and any mods. I was able to do it all without affecting the family income. The only major expense was the paint job. I paid for that (with Bronco shirt and art money).
I’ve got a thousand stories about how I built her over the years. Made mistakes. Fixed them. Learned a lot. Made good friends who I could not have done it without.
The engine came from a donor Explorer. My friends came from all over (California to Washington) and we swapped in that efi motor, plumbed the fuel pump and lines, built the harness, and cobbled up an exhaust in a weekend. One more weekend got it dialed and driving.
That’s been the best part of owning this Bronco. The friends I have made and some great memories. I am still making Bronco art and shirts.
