Swapped in a sludge filled 1999 Chevy 5.3 V8, added a used LS1 cam and its backed by a sketchy 4l60e with a TCI Fast Gate shifter.
I also made a new gauge cluster with plastic for bathroom trim, spray paint, and rtv. Gauges are all different types: Universal speedometer, Bosch Tach, and Autometer coolant temp, oil psi, and voltmeter. Even made a used Jeep Cherokee electric cooling fan work. Shorty S10 LS swap headers, custom exhaust with a Cherry Bomb Vortex muffler, sounds PERFECT.

Build story
This is 100% a budget garage build. My first EVER engine swap. The engine mounts are fabricated with universal parts and scrap metal from forklifts. Everything except for the driveshaft, exhaust system, and pcm flash was done in my garage. The reason I went LS is because, I did tons and tons of homework and math. Building the 318 would have taken what it took for me to do the entire project, even more for a Hemi swap!! I even watched hours of muffler videos before picking the best flowing and sounding muffler haha. This build was done almost completely by myself. Every nut and bolt on this truck, I've touched or bled on. Old Blue is my little muscle truck! Thanks!
