Father-Son built (first build for us) Olds 350 Rocket. Pocket lint budget with flat top Sealed Power Pistons. RVish Cam. Unknown specs but sounds decent. Did our own bugger weld exhaust. Ain’t pretty but we are proud that it has survived a couple HRPTs. Son built the TH400 in shop class and it has been a champ. Not a show winner (well except the time we were 3rd in a three car field) but we are pleased as punch with it and have met so many great people along the way!!
Build story
We saw HRPT come through southern Wisconsin and said we have to do that. Pulled this out of a barn where it was parked for 12 years. Had white walls and a 200k oil burner powering it. We cleaned her up and did two days of power tour and used 12qts of oil and had to leave the heater on to avoid over heating. Fast forward to now. We are in the car community and we host a car cruise in the Iowa/Wisconsin Driftless region to pay it forward for all the help we received. The car will never win a show, but we wouldn’t sell it for any amount.
