Switch suspension 6/8 drop with helper bags

Build story

I have wanted a crew cab dually squarebody for a long time. I finally found this one for $1800 not running at a tow lot on FB marketplace. We stuck a battery in it and it actually fired right up, the TBI system was really hacked up but it did end up driving on the trailer. I started on this truck in December 2020 and have put a ton of time and effort into it. I started with the lowering kit and found that the entire brake system needing replacing, as well as all of the steering and all of the suspension components not included with the drop kit. The further I went the more I had to replace. I had to rebuild the rear axle, new upper and lower control arms w/new ball joints and bushings, the drop kit came with new spindles, springs and shocks. I put new wheel bearings, rotors and calipers up front and upgraded the rear brakes to a disc conversion from lugnut4x4. On the engine I put a speed master low rise intake on with a Edelbrock 650 AVS carb (borrowed from a buddy) a Jegs HEI distributor and gutted the TBI system. Then I put a set of Summit headers on it and welded up a basic exhaust system using 3” pipe and Jegs turbo mufflers that dump at the rear axle. I wet sanded and buffed the paint to get it shining again, the whole truck needs a paint job but that’ll have to wait till next year. Inside the truck I pulled everything out and power washed the carpet and seats. I refurbished and cleaned the door panels and replaced the dash pad with a urethane unit from classic industries. I finally finished everything up to get ready for show season and it spun a rod bearing. So in the next couple weeks it’ll have a fresh 454 in it and be ready to hit the road. There’s more I want to do to Big John, but being a single dad and having a full time job time and resources are limited.
