Mods
Well She’s about as factree as a guy could ever hope for these days times. The only “mods” would be removal of original hubcaps, color matched original steel 14” wheels, new tires with added baby moons & of course the ol Itali-Yan tuneup LOL. Just clicked 64k Miles and is pretty much a survivor with 1 scratch n shoot respray in the original shade of Ivory Gold Mist. Even Still has the optional Heavy-Duty aluminum brake drums in place. I do have plans converting the original 68 hood into a GS version with functional outside air induction through the cowl & I have a correct roof rack for it. Possibly a nasty 455 Buick and 4 speed conversion in the future as well but having a hard time changing anything about the car due to originality.
Build story
Was found hibernating in a carport in 2020 where it had resided in VA since 1972 and was just recently revived after original owner passed away about 20 years ago. The car was driven regularly until then and had been sitting since he passed. Ignition system, fuel system, brakes, lines, carb, wheel bearings, front end rebuild/alignment, all fluids etc changed to get the dust knocked off this ol girl get her back in the wind. Runs and drives beautifully. ( to a guy like me anyway, though most might compare its handling to that of a lumber wagon). LOL
Truly a Time capsule.

The green 1968 Buick SportWagon. My parents bought one in the late 1960s, in Troy NY at Gilligan’s Buick (if memory serves), to replace the family Ford Falcon station wagon. With 5 kids in the family, there were 7 of us total and we needed the space off the 3-row station wagon. Who remembers riding in that backward-facing 3rd row?
A year later they bought a blue 1969 Buick Skylark 4-door sedan from the same dealership, and our family now has 2 cars. In 1977 when I turned 16, those Buicks were still in the family and they became the first cars I ever drove.
The SportWagon served us well for many years. We drove it on many family road trips, and sometimes we pulled an Apache Nomad camping trailer on summer vacations from Latham NY across the country to San Francisco.
Many good memories with this green 1968 SportWagon.
