4 years ago I inherited my grandfather’s 1982 Ford F-150 xlt lariat regular cab long bed with the 351w and c6 automatic. And the reasoning behind me inheriting the 82 because my grandfather on my mom’s side of the family he passed away from stage 4 bone cancer and I was close to him and everyday or every other time i would go and visit him until his passing. I keep thinking about him. And wanting to tell him that I got his truck running again. And 2 days after his passing I got the truck to run.
And a few days later after I got the truck running I got a lot of parts did a lot of work to the truck and drove the truck and then the old worn out 351w blown a head gasket and the truck set for a year and half and then about 6 or 8 months ago and found a newer 351w it came out of a 92 Ford F-250 with only 106’200 miles on the truck. And I bought the engine for $400 and then I pulled it out and took it home Pulled off the EFI stuff off. And I put a new oil pump in. And I put arp oil pump drive in the oil pump for the distributor. and new rear main seal while i had it out. And new oil pan and gasket. and I switched the engine from a manual to automatic. I took the old clutch and pressure plate and fly wheel off and pulled out the needle pilot bearing and the bushing for the pilot bearing. and I put a new flex plate in. And I put my Edelbrock dual plane intake ford hei distributor from the old 351w and installed it on the 92 351w and i put the new to me engine in my 82 ford and then I bought a new Edelbrock avs2 carb In a 500cfm Manual choke. And then I put different rear wheel’s on. and I changed the gearing In the ford 9 inch from 350 gears to 300 gears and I bought a flat bed from a friend of mine and I put led head light’s on the flat bed and I added led back up trailer lights on the headache rack. And I bought led headlights for the front of the truck. And I swapped out the stamp steel twin I beams to the cast iron twin I beam’s new brake’s In the front. Brake calipers and pads. And new tires all the way around. And for the rear I’m running 31x10.50-15’s Hercules Terratrac m/t’s and the front I’m running a 235-75-15’s Ironman all Country a/t’s and I took the front bumper off because of Oklahoma deer like’s run out in front of you. And I’m going to build a front bumper for my truck lol
And I forgot one more thing lol
I also added a add leaf to the factory leaf pack from another leaf pack to Stiffen the factory leaf pack that’s on the truck. and the rear and I also added lift block’s along with 10inch long u-bolt’s.
And I also got a cab visor a year or two ago.
