This was willed to me from a close friend of mine in May 2018. This is the last surviving example of 13 service vans for his company. All were black with the gold stripe, this one he ordered new for himself. It sat on and off over the 15 years prior to me so it needed a bunch of work to get drivable. While I was getting it mechanically sorted with a buddy, my wife and I gutted the interior and made it into our home away from home in the span of 3 months, just enough time to take it to a concert I perform at every year. I skinned the original door panels and my wife reupholstered them. I cut the rear carpet out of an area rug and made the bedframe. Its not finished, nor the prettiest or quickest thing around but it always makes me smile. I plan to wake up the 318 a little bit with the usual bolt on treats.
