Build story

Picked it up in 2013, my neighbor new a guy that had it for sale and I was in the market for a truck. I had just traded in my 98 GMC Sierra and my 2000 Dodge Durango SXT (with the AWD and 5.9) so the fam could have a new car. The 65 is a factory 4x4, it was a forestry department truck that was painted white, then forestry green, then red. All on top of each other. I got it running as cheap as possible and kept it as it was for a couple years (read: no money), then when it cracked a head I took the opportunity to do a couple things. Found a pair of heads with the "CJ valves" and ported them along with an edelbrock performer intake. Recurved the distributor, rebuilt the rest of the engine with new bearings and rings, oil pump, ect. Its .030 over. Holly 700 CFM carb. Re geared the Difs with 3.50:1 gears. I started to paint it but got sick and couldnt work on it so it sat for 4 months as a half stripped shell. I decided to just paint what I had stripped and put it back together because: time/$$$! So its been that way for another couple years as painting it has been back burner. It runs really well, is a blast to drive.
