Vortec 350 with long tubes, performer intake, HEI and Edelbrock carb. 700r4 swap. Front power disc brake conversion. Big sway bars front and rear with bilstein shocks tuned by RCD. Lowered 2” in the front and stock height progressive springs in the back.
Build story
Bought the car bone stock 5 years ago with 106k on it. It was completely original down to the paint and interior. Lowered it down, added some new wheels/tires and swap to disc’s up front. Daily drove it that way for about 2 years with the og 283 and power glide. A few too may spirited accelerations took its toll on the 283. Tore the car down to frame rails up front and did a mechanical restoration on it. After a couple years of life getting in the way, I finally got it back together this past December. Once again she’s back to being my daily driver. The added power of the vortec 350 and overdrive of the 700r4 make it an easy drive everyday. My Wife and kids are happy to be able to go for drives in the Impala again.
