Build story
1969 Buick Electra 225. i got this in summer of 2018. I traded a 93 prelude SI for it which I traded a blown up civic for. so in the end im up on the value im in it a good bit. it was barely running, spray bombed primer, and when i say sprayed on badly i mean, they got primer on all the chrome, windshields and door handles. they didnt mask off anything. windshields leaked, smelled like that moldy old rug you find in the basement of an abandoned house, leaked antifreeze from the radiator, and was sketchy driving over 25mph. this was a parts car other than the fact that there very little rust, battery tray and window tracks and thats it. So i first fixed the not running issue but slapping a holley on it and acid dipping and sealing the gas tank. then i had the windshield and back window pulled to be resealed and found the track was rusted so i fixed that with some aluminum HVAC hanger. windshields put in, airshocks installed like all good american classics should have, and started on the paint. i had to strip multiple layers of different primers off it aswell as clean every piece of chrome by hand. sprayed it semi gloss black, that pulled the interior out and go new carpet, cleaned the seats heavily, put a new radiator in it, tagged and started driving it. and it ran very well, brakes didnt leak, lines where good. i found a bunch of gas cards from the 80s so i know it was driven till 85 and a note stating "this is a one owner car until march of 2013 where i sold it to (name of 2nd owner who was not the guy i got it from)". this car runs good and would trust taking it long distance (with a socket set of course) and plan to drive this to OCMD in may from harrisburg PA. got almost 19MPG on the turnpike when i drove to my grandmas, though it hovers around 10mpg around town. from a parts car to a weekly cruiser, it took alot of work but i feel it was worth it to keep atleast one old buick around.
